Stanford University(スタンフォード大学)の水泳選手がレイプ容疑で逮捕された件に関してつい先日判決が。
なんと、禁固たったの6か月。。。。しかも実際に刑務所に入るのは3か月だとか。
レイプしてたったの6か月？そしてなかなか「mugshot」（警察ファイル用の顔写真）の公開もなかった。
これら一連の流れに対して批判殺到。

And the authorities refuse to let the public see his arrest photo.
「これは’白人特権’の典型だ。名門スタンフォード大学のスター水泳選手がレイプ容疑で逮捕され16か月、言い渡されたのはたったの禁固6か月。しかも当局は逮捕写真を公にすることを拒否してる。」
「white privilege」とは「白人の特権」の事。アメリカではいまだに「黒人差別」と「白人至上主義」なる考えが根強い。
非常に残念なことだけど、至る所でそれらの影響を垣間見ることができす。
