ながぁいながぁい夏休みも後半戦。残りの予定を知人と話していたところ、一人がミシガンに行くとの事。そして出てきた言い回し♪
Michigan is JoJo’s stomping ground!! ミシガンはジョージョーのホームグランドだわ！
「stomping ground(s)」もしくは「stamping ground(s)」で「a customary territory or favorite gathering place」（常習的もしくは大好きなたまり場）つまりは、「行きつけの場所、ホームグランド」的な意味になる。
知人は「neck of the woods」と同意だよ、って教えてくれたけど、、、「neck of the woods」もわからんわぁい、、、って思った。。。調べてみると、「近所、庭（縄張り）、界隈」との意味。なるほどねぇ。
両方とも「地元」的な使い方できる感じ。
These are my old stomping grounds where is used to ride my bike. ここら辺は昔よくバイクしてた場所なの。
The mall was my stomping ground. このモールは私の行きつけの場所だったの。
He is from my neck of the woods. 彼は私の地元出身だよ。
